RIP Darby Crash

Come watch the rare documentary about key bands of the LA punk movement from '79 to '81. Legendary film Decline of the Western Civilization features Black Flag, X, The Germs, The Bags, Catholic Discipline, and Fear.

Film Viewing is at Rocketown
6 to 9 PM on Thursday, 2/21

Feel free to bring a mix CD of your favorite punk hits for the music swap. I'll be bringing several copies of the Valentine's playlist below. This event is part of a punk appreciation group created by my awesome friend Nico. Join the Oi! Oi! Oi! Facebook group for updates and future events like this one!

RIP Joe Strummer

So, I didn't actually make it to last week's show due to unexpected Valentine's plans :)

BUT I promise I'll make it up to you tomorrow! Special guest, Foobar's own DJ LEGS will be coming in to spin a few jams and chat about his Saturday gigs. Here's a little about him:

"Hello hello
I am Legs with the DJ duo known as "Let Fury Have The Hour!" What we do for Nashville is one-of-a-kind. We are Punk DJs at the fooBar. We play the stuff nobody else does and we are bustin our heads to get people to understand its okay to cut loose to some good old glam and classic punk and all things related.
...
hugs and kisses
LEGS"

Tune in at 8 and then head to Foobar afterwards for a night of your favorite music!

Is anybody out there?

I know there are at least eight human beings who are tuning in, by measure of request calls.

I was only able to play half of the requests called in, but if you leave them here via blog comment I guarantee I will come prepared next week to fulfill your every musical desire.

Thanks to Mike who loves X
Chris who tunes in at work and is a fan of The Damned
Those two dudes from Franklin and Spring Hill, they're down with Bad Brains and Dead Boys.
Steven from England who appreciates the Buzzcocks.

And OF COURSE East Side Eric! Who is East Side Eric, you ask? That, my friend, is a good question that I don't entirely know the answer to. For one, we know that he lives in East Nashville. We also know his name is Eric. He loves Lambchop, Boston, The Cure, and he obviously loves WRVU DJs. Are you out there, Eric?
